Join Robin Bailey Hoffman, 26-year member of the Scholastic Book Fairs Book Selection Committee, to discuss how she and her colleagues curate the assortment of books selected each season for over 110,00 Scholastic Book Fairs.  In addition, Robin and SCBWI-IL PAL & Published coordinator Sarah Aronson will chat about books, school visits, and Robin’s 28 years on the National Book Selection Committee.

Come listen in as Robin & Sarah talk about her career in books as well as Robin’s ideas about school presentations. Sarah Aronson says that she follows the Robin Rules for school visits and they’ve never been better! Be prepared to walk away with new enthusiasm, knowledge, and goals!

Robin Bailey Hoffman founded the Children’s Book Connection in 1981 with a curated collection of books for preschool to eighth-grade students. She joined Scholastic Book Fairs in 1992 and has held a variety of positions in almost 28 years.

Currently, as Director of National Events and Special Programs, she leads the six national Reading Summits, each attracting over 600 educators, manages the author visit program, both in-person and virtual for over 500 schools and leads the Book Fair Preview program, orienting teachers to books prior to the start of their Scholastic Book Fairs. And finally, she has served as a member of the Scholastic Book Fairs Book Selection Committee for over 26 years, helping to curate the assortment of books each season to over 110,00 Book Fairs.
