This event is for LGBTQ+ authors, illustrators and translators, as well as allies of the queer community who want to see more LGBTQ+ children’s books on bookstore and library shelves. We hope to see you there for a memorable night! Hosted by the SCBWI-Illinois Equity & Inclusion Team’s Nathan Lyon. ALL ARE WELCOME!

HOST NATHAN LYON, SCBWI-IL EQUITY & INCLUSION TEAM
Nathan Lyon is a middle grade author who is passionate about including characters from the LGBTQ+ community in his writing. Queer kids need to see themselves in the books they read, and all kids benefit from learning about other perspectives. When he is not writing, he can be found teaching 4th grade, reading inclusive middle grade and YA books or biking around Chicago.
