Riverside Writing Retreat, August 12-14 in beautiful, historic Elsah, IL.

Just 45 minutes from St. Louis, Mo., this downstate Illinois retreat on the shores of the Mississippi River will feature in-person consults with industry professionals, quiet writing time, guided creativity exercises, sessions on how to create a media kit and author bio, good food, camaraderie and the spectacular river views.

The event will be especially useful for people who have a complete PB manuscript or a well-developed MG or YA novel.

POST-EVENT SUBMISSION OPPORTUNITIES

GROUP FEEDBACK FROM CRITIQUE PARTNERS
You will share your manuscript with four other participants, who will see your WIP with fresh eyes. Enjoy the energy of a critique group of fellow writers. In past years, many of these critique groups continued on well past the conference.

Get tips and tricks for pitch writing and practice with your critique group.

 

PROFESSIONAL COACHING
Create your bio and media kit, two key pieces to have in your writer/illustrator toolkit. Here’s a great opportunity to begin or refine your publicity materials.

 

RECHARGE OPPORTUNITIES
Writing prompts, informal watercolor painting and poetry session and at-liberty writing time give you many ways to recharge your creative well!

 

Have you published a book? We will have a display for published books Saturday afternoon.
