Critique Sessions

 

CRITIQUE SESSIONS
Attendance mandatory during entire Critique Session.

Attendees are expected to respect the critique process and stay for the duration of the session to offer peer feedback AFTER the professional has spoken.
(Only 10 attendees each; 3.5 hours includes 15-minute introduction, break and wrap-up; NOT recorded.)

 

SESSION STRUCTURE

—You will be in a Zoom Breakout Room with your preferred industry professional and 9 other attendees.

 

—You will read EITHER a log line or a synopsis from ONE work-in-progress. 

 

—You will read its corresponding, first page and receive instant, professional and peer feedback on that work-in-progress. (See THE GUIDELINES at right).

 

—You WILL NOT pre-submit your materials for CRiTIQUE SESSIONS. 

 

 

SHARING WIPs

Log line, synopsis and first pages are not submitted in advance.

 

—Be prepared to SCREEN SHARE and READ your prepared first pages. Hosts cannot assist you. Familiarize yourself with this Zoom Tutorial.

 

— Illustrators are invited to SCREEN SHARE dummys, interior/cover art for novels, and or graphic novel illustrations in addition to their first pages as collateral material only. Familiarize yourself with this Zoom Tutorial.

 

 

SELECT CRITIQUE PROFESSIONAL

— Select your preferred industry professional during registration.

 

—It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY make sure the industry professional you select represents your format and genres.

 

—We recommend you select a CRiTiQUE SESSION with a faculty member other than that with which you have selected for your BOUTIQUE CRITIQUE.

—Log Line/Synopsis and First Page must conform to THE GUIDELINES, at right.
