FOR ILLUSTRATORS: (choose up to 4)

Portfolio Review: $45

A limited number of face-to-face portfolio reviews are available to SCBWI members. Each review will be 15 minutes and conducted with either Jasmin Rubero, Annie Hodges, Adriana Domínguez, or Vashti Harrison. There are no refunds for cancellation.

Portfolio Showcase: no extra charge

Members attending the conference are invited to display their illustration portfolio during the Mix & Mingle. Space is limited so registration is required and portfolios must not exceed the size limits listed in the guidelines. You may also display one book dummy and promotional cards with your porfolio. Please follow the portfolio guidelines (see The Guidelines page, to the right, in the upper box).

Art Contest: no extra charge

Member illustrators are eligible to enter one piece of art based on the prompt:

“Competition was fierce but Rowan was ready.”

You must be registered for the conference and sign up for the contest to enter. Create, scan and adjust your piece so it fits into a 768 x 768 pixel format. Name your JPEG using the following format: PWID_2019_Art_Contest_FirstName_LastName.jpg. Upload your entry to the Art Contest dropbox no later than the deadline September 21.

Jasmin Rubero and Vashti Harrison will judge the contest. The winner(s) will receive a portfolio review with the judge that chose their work. NOTE: This may be in addition to a portfolio review for which the winner(s) has already paid. If a winner has already paid for a Portfolio Review, every effort will be made to schedule the winner with the contest judge that selected them AND another critiquer. Winners will be notified of their portfolio review time and instructed to bring their portfolio prior to the conference. The winners will be formally announced at the conference and their winning image will be featured on the SCBWI-IL website.

Postcards: no extra charge

For Member Illustrators: to make sure the attending faculty receives your sample postcards, we will prepare special packets for their folders. To be included, send 15 postcards to 611 Lavergne Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091.
