The Elizabeth Fama PWID Scholarship &

SCBWI-IL PWID Scholarship

There are two scholarships available for SCBWI members who would like to attend Prairie Writer’s and Illustrator’s Day but can’t due to economic concerns.

The first is the Elizabeth Fama PWID Scholarship, sponsored by talented and generous SCBWI member Elizabeth Fama. This scholarship covers both tuition and a free manuscript critique or portfolio review.

The second scholarship is sponsored by the Illinois SCBWI chapter and Dr. Teresa Owens Smith and covers tuition.

If you would like to attend Prairie Writer’s and Illustrator’s Day, but cannot due to economic constraints

Please follow the below link to the scholarship application form:

Applications will be open from Thursday, August 1st through Saturday, August 31st

Please note you can apply even if you’ve attended PWID in the past.

Of those who apply, two names will be drawn at random (one for each scholarship).

Your 100-200 words qualifies you for this drawing and demonstrates that you have examined the details of this specific conference and are invested in attending.

Before you apply: if you opt for the manuscript critique, please be sure you’ll be able to meet deadlines.

These scholarships are nontransferable. If you have to cancel for some reason, another name will be drawn.

Winners will be notified on Tuesday, September 3rd. Conference registration begins Saturday, September 7th.
