September 21 Deadline for manuscript critiques, dialogue critiques, and manuscript contest. Please see the Guidelines for details (note new guidelines for graphic novels)*

October 19 Cancellation deadline to get a refund, minus a $50 cancellation fee. After this date there will be no refunds. Fees for Extras are non-refundable.
October 19 Virtual Folder link will be emailed to attendees.
October 19 Registration ends*

*Please be aware, Prairie Writer’s & Illustrator’s Day has traditionally been a sellout event, and many of our Extra opportunities also fill before their deadlines.


First time registering? Here are a few helpful hints.

On September 7 at noon, the registration form will become available on the event home page.

If you plan to renew or join SCBWI to get the member discount, please do this BEFORE registering.

DO NOT page backward during registration process.

PayPal or Credit Cards accepted for online payment.

If you have trouble making your payment and finalizing your registration, please be aware that you can easily complete the transaction by going to your <home> page, <event history> and using the <pay now> button.

Be sure to read through the Guidelines, in the upper right box, before submitting any work.

To change a selection during registration, unclick the unwanted item before clicking on your new choice.

To change a selection after completing registration please click here to email the registrar.

The password below is for administrative purposes. You do not need a password to access information about the event.

You must be 18 years of age or older to attend Prairie Writer’s & Illustrator’s Day. No children under 18 allowed on the premises for liability reasons.

Cancellation requests must be made by e-mail by October 19 in order to receive a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee. There will be no refunds issued after October 19. After this date, refunds are at the discretion of the Regional Advisor in cases of a death in the family, hospitalization or military deployment. Refunds only apply to the registration fee. Registration is nontransferable.  If will not be able to attend, you must email the Registrar by October 19.

There are no refunds for Extras.

If you have a disability and require a support person in order to be able to take advantage of this event, please register yourself AND email the Registrar to ask for assistance in registering your support person. Space limitations require us to register support personnel; however, there is no fee or additional charge.
